Liz and Ryan | Baltimore, Maryland Promotional Video Videographers

There are so many ways and reasons why this video could have never happened. We have been fortunate enough to have become very close friends with Liz and Ryan over the past few years in a crazy string of coincidences and good luck. The bulk of our time together has been spent in Vegas where we met them in February 2011 at WPPI as we were being shot by many a phototog for Justin and Mary’s shootout that year. Fast forward 365 days and back in Vegas we are this time Liz and ryan are the models and Nick and I shooting them for a film for J&M, crazy small world stuff, I know! Then there was this whole crazy thing where you know, I got married in Vegas and of course Ryan jumped in as my groomsman in a clutch. It is absolutely unreal how amazing these two are and how much it means to us that we could be the ones to share their story with their couples and the rest of the world.

Shooting this film could not have been more awesome. We spent two full days with Liz and Ryan at their home in Baltimore and pretty much just hung out as went through their typical yet awesome routines. It truly makes so much sense to share Liz and Ryan’s story through their amazing life and how that can translate into something special and unique for anybody. It really didn’t hurt that we got to eat like kings for two days straight either. It was really a cool challenge to shoot in such a controlled setting like the coffee shop or their home and then go out into the crowd of the farmer’s market and shoot amongst the public. It’s always fun to see peoples reactions when you come flying by them with a glide cam!

Michele and Christopher | Veritas Winery, Charlottesville Virginia Wedding Videographers

I don’t know that I can think of two professions more consuming and challenging than becoming a lawyer and the US Armed Forces. Both require a considerable amount of time of one’s youth, late nights, and some of the most mental and physical challenges a human being can take. I have to admit it was absolutely awe inspiring to see Michele and Christopher grow this amazing relationship they have despite all the challenges of their careers.

I immediately fell in love with these two from email number one. First they wanted to meet us at one of my favorite watering holes in Portsmouth, second they had already booked the gorgeous Veritas Winery in Charlottesville VA, third they chose the absolutely amazing Rob Garland to be their photographer. I was beyond excited to work with a couple so cool, in a place so wonderful, and with someone who’ve I respected so much over the years, it was just a little slice of heaven for me. It also didn’t hurt that Michele planned such an elegant affair with just the right amount of details and a heavy dose of fun! We hope you enjoy Michele and Christopher’s story as much as we did.

Deanna and Dylan | Two Rivers Country Club, Williamsburg, Virginia Wedding Videographers

Rain. A bride’s worst fear, mortal enemy of the wedding. Admittedly we’ve been pretty fortunate this year with the rain, as in a perfect record, but Mother Nature finally got her way. The good news is Deanna is entirely to awesome to be told what to do by the weather. Storms loomed the entire day and the sky more than opened up a few times but as soon as the clouds parted, guests were quickly ushered by Dylan’s friends and by gosh we had a wedding.

And what a party it was. After Dylan’s father led an amazing ceremony filled with laughter, the bridal party took over and rocked the house. Hours of drinks and dancing all dedicated to the love that Deanna and Dylan share. A love that is fun, true, and will always find the sunshine on a cloudy day.

Amanda and Jonathan | The Chamberlin Hotel, Hampton, Virginia Wedding Videographers

Some stories are just meant to be told. I was invited along to Amanda and Jonathan’s wedding to assist my wife and her partner film the ceremony as an addition to their photography package. I figured it would be a fun way to spen a Sunday afternoon and an excellent for me to improve my still taking ability especially since I just picked up a new camera body. As we neared the wedding date, Ashley began filling me in on Amanda and Jonathan’s story. Their deployments, moves, the little bits here and there of spending time with each other inbetween the hard work of defending our country.

I decided before we headed out I would go ahead and film all day, pretending to take stills, so that their story could be told. It was such a fun challenge shooting a wedding on my own with such a limited setup of 2 bodies, a monopod, and a couple of primes. It without a doubt helped to have such awesome vendors; of course my wife and Jen, Shay Rybin, and the always rad Amanda Pearl!

Amanda and Jonathan, thanks again for all that you do and all your sacrifices that not all of us are willing to make!

Alison and Steve | Chrysler Museum, Norfolk, Virginia Wedding Videographers

There’s always that moment in the booking process when you just know the couple is the right fit. Something just clicks, everything makes sense, and you just know working together is going to be a breeze. Somehow with Alison and Steve we managed to have that happen twice. My first time running into Alison was at the Wine Fest in Norfolk. That right there is reason enough to know someone is going to be awesome. I was so thankful she decided not to pass judgment on Nick and I as we stood there, bottle of Riesling in hand, trying to make sure we had time for one more drink before the event was over. Luckily all was well, she was excited, and it was set that we’d have a meeting soon after.
And then I met Steve. When I arrived at their house my man Steve has an epic command post set up for fantasy football. It is absolutely impressive to see. It was like mission control but with laptops, clipboards, chips, beer, and notes on every player’s performance for the day. At that exact moment I knew these two are one of “my” couples and their Chrysler Museum wedding couldn’t get here fast enough. And I think that’s Alison felt that faithful night at the bar when she decided to walk by the dark and handsome hulk of a man in a tank top on her way to the restroom. She just knew. And I’m pretty sure it didn’t take many exchanges shouted over the jams of SnackBar Jones that night for Steve to realize the same thing. Sometimes you just know.
